Due to current travel restrictions during COVID-19 pandemic, the 7th annual meeting of ASEAN Network on Microbial Utilization (AnMicro) will be held fully online on September 18th, 2020 (9.00 - 10.30 h, GMT+7). The delegates from AnMicro members (18 institutes/organizations from 7 ASEAN countries) will participate via teleconference system to update the recent progress and discuss the future collaboration of the network.

AnMicro is, in fact, no stranger to teleconference or online meeting. AnMicro held many fruitful online meetings in recent years. Even at the 6th annual conference in Los Banos, Philippines, some members were joining via teleconference system. However, the 7th AnMicro annual conference hosted by National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), Thailand, will be the first fully-online annual conference ever in AnMicro’s history.

This “new normal” way of collaboration will definitively prove the uncompromised commitment of AnMicro members and the concrete friendship amongst ASEAN microbiologists’ community.
